Lunch and Learn Factory Tour - Pennville Custom Cabinetry- Portland, IN.
Lamar, Missouri, January 22, 2009 - Roger Shaw & Associates, Inc. in cooperation with our outstanding vendors are hosting a series of 2009 Lunch & Learn Factory Tours across North America.
Roger Shaw and Associates are very excited about highlighting these successful shops in our industry throughout the coming year. The Woodworking Industry has many upbeat, creative, innovative and automated businesses that have a story to tell. We are very driven to share their “good news” with our industry.
The factory tour “kicked off” on Thursday, January 22nd in Portland, Indiana at Pennville Custom Cabinetry. Mark Goldman of Pennville Custom Cabinetry commented regarding the event, “It was great to see all the cabinetmakers that were trying to get to where Pennville Custom Cabinetry is today. It reminded me of how far our team has taken us, and how much of a difference SCM has made in our business. I hope we were able to help someone else in our industry . . . just as our competition helped me as I started to learn the business.” Pennville has been dedicated to keeping up with automation and credits much of their success to keeping current with technology. Goldman states, “When I graduated college in 1988, Pennville didn’t own a computer. I saw a CNC router for the first time in 1993, and in 1994 I bought a Mobidelli 504 with my own money because my Dad said Pennville couldn’t afford it. I felt that the future required it. As Pennville Custom Cabinetry grew, we bought an Alpha saw, 2 - T130 shapers, and an SCM triple head sander. Most recently SCM worked creatively with us so we could afford a Morbidelli X-5 (5-axis router). It takes good partners for any company to grow. I am proud of what Pennville Custom Cabinetry has become, and I am grateful we chose SCM as our partner”.
